Facility Maintenance

Overview

This position will perform activities engaged in the maintenance and repair of facility structure, equipment, utility systems, and buildings. Comply with all sanitation and safety guidelines. In addition, this position will assist with the hands-on installation, maintenance, and testing of experimental research and development equipment associated with initial production, plant troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform construction related duties such as the installation, removal, and repair of piping, tile, and concrete.
  • Remove, dismantling, or replace various equipment.
  • Follow specifications and blueprints.
  • Use measuring instruments, power tools, hand tools, and manuals.
  • May operate forklifts, hoists, and other heavy equipment.
  • Visually inspects and reports any areas requiring attention.
  • Bend and run process pipes for various projects.
  • Assist with snow removal and property maintenance as needed.
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities

  • Basic electrical knowledge.
  • Knowledge and ability to maintain certification to operate various material handling equipment.
  • General knowledge of computers and software is preferred.

Demonstrated Competencies

  • Above average mechanical aptitude servicing precision machine parts.
  • Good observation and analytical evaluation skills to report on, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems.
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees as necessary, both verbally and in written form.
  • Must have regular and punctual attendance.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires sitting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, reaching, bending, and lifting.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60lbs.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Experience:  Minimum of 1 year of facility construction experience is preferred.
Education:  High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.
